Somali President Congratulates Somali People On Eid Occasion

 (STN-MUQDISHO):_President of Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdulahi Farmajo on Friday sent congratulation message to the public on the first day of Eidul Fitri after completing the holy month of Ramadan and praised Security forces’ role for preventing terrorist attacks during the Ramadan, SONNA reported.

“Congratulation to my people in and outside the country on this Eid day, I wish you celebrate happily and in peace and we are praying Allah to reach next year with health and complete peace”, the president said in statement.

Mr. Farmajo thanked Somali Security forces for doing the handwork in defending the people and preventing terrorist attacks from al-Shabab militants during the holy month of Ramadan, urging the public to continue working with the security forces.

“ I am thanking our Security forces’ stabilization division who were standing day and night for defending the people from the horror militants who accustomed to carry out attacks and kill large people, young and old in Mogadishu town, I thank people for how they endured for the movement and traffic problems, the government is trying its bets to restore peace and stability”, Mr. Farmajo said.

 

On the other hand, UN Special Envoy for Somalia, Micheal Keating congratulated all Somalis on the occasion of Eidulul Fitri.

 

“On behalf of the entire United Nations family in Somalia, I wish you a festive and peaceful Eid,” said SRSG Keating. “We join you in welcoming the sighting of the new moon that signals the end of the holy month of Ramadan. May the blessings of Eid bring families and friends together to celebrate in a spirit of goodwill and reconciliation”, He said.

 

Mr. Keating hoped this special time of the year will bring much happiness to Somalis at home and abroad and foster peace and prosperity throughout the country.
