President Farmajo led Somali federal government asks clan militias to end growing hostilities recently reported at Galgaduud and Middle Shabelle regions.
At least 30 people were reported dead yesterday at a heavy military engagement between two clan militias at Burdere location in Middle Shabelle.
Minister of Interior and Federal Affairs of Somalia Abdi Mohammed Sabriye asked the militias to cease fire immediately. Sabriye decided to address the growing clan hate with the necessary weight it deserves.
” I am deeply disappointed by the ongoing clan conflicts that has cost lives at Galgaduud and Middle Shabelle. I am hoping that it ends soon,” said Sabriye at a public gathering in Mogadishu.
The Somali government has shown concerns since clan conflicts have started in many regions.
Six people were killed last week in Galkaayo region. This fighting was between two groups in an outpost south of Galkaayo town.
The two groups are reported to have disputed over a land after they failed to reach consensus.
