Southwest state leader tours  flood affected Bardale district

BARDALE ( Somalitopnews) – The president of the southwest regional state of Somalia Abdiaziz Lafta Garen and his delegation arrived in the Bardale district in Bay region on Saturday.

At least 6,000 families have been displaced in Bardale in southern Somalia’s Bay region after flash floods caused by torrential rain hit the town.

Federal MPs, ministers, and regional MPs are among the delegation of the president. The president will assess the situation of the district as he will have a meeting with the local officials and residents.

The floods affected four suburbs, forcing many families to flee their homes. Roads were flooded making transport and movement impossible.

Displaced families settled in an open area on the outskirts of town, while some others moved to nearby villages.
